La Pinada Bobal 2021, produced by Agrícolas La Portera in Valencia, Spain, is a pure expression of old-vine Bobal, sourced from organically farmed vineyards planted in 1958 at around 700 meters above sea level. This minimal-intervention red wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged in concrete tanks, preserving the varietal’s freshness and character. In the glass, it shows a vibrant garnet hue and offers a lively nose of wild red berries, crushed herbs, violets, and subtle mineral undertones. The palate is medium-bodied and juicy, with fresh acidity, fine tannins, and flavors of tart cherry, cranberry, and a touch of earth and spice. Unfiltered and bottled with minimal sulfur, it is a bright, honest wine that reflects its Mediterranean terroir. Best served slightly chilled, it pairs wonderfully with tapas, grilled vegetables, and light meats, and is ideal for drinking now through 2027.
